Arkansas State Red Wolves announces dramatic new additions to Centennial Bank Stadium

Arkansas State provided new firepower to the never ceasing stadium expansion war by officially announcing its much anticipated North Endzone Expansion of Centennial Bank Stadium. The multi-million dollar project is expected to be ready by the start of the 2018 season.

New digs for the athletes

The expansion will modernize and enhance athletic facilities that are overdue for improvements. (The current Red Wolves locker room isn’t exactly the garden spot of the campus, in my opinion). Current and future Red Wolves will soon be treated to the following amenities:

  • a new weight room and training/rehabilitation area
  • new team locker room
  • position meeting rooms
  • players’ lounge
  • academic rooms
  • team-theater meeting area

Fan-experience upgrade

The fans haven’t been left out, though. The project makes dramatic cosmetic and entertainment additions that will, for lack of a better phrase, kicks ass.

  • Red Wolves Den will be comprised of 4 person loge boxes and individual terrace premium seating
  • Both seating options include premium tailgate-type food, non-alcoholic beverages, access to two cash bars and private restrooms
  • Terrace seating (located on the East and West areas of the endzone) feature bar-height stools that include one assigned Red Wolves Foundation donor parking spot
New Terrace Seating will add a bad ass fan experience. And yeah, that’s a water feature.

 Tailgate Promenade

In addition to the stadium improvements, Arkansas State also announced the creation of a Tailgate Promenade to be located on what is currently the outdoor practice field. The Tailgate Promenade offers  numbered individual parking spots connected to a sweet 10 x 10 tailgate tent. The most exciting feature? Private restrooms! Booyah!

“The vision is very clear for us!”

The North End Zone Project, which has been in concept stage since at least 2012, represents the latest effort by the A-State Athletic Department to fulfill its pledge to elevating the Red Wolves to Group of Five elite. Two seasons ago, the program completed a $25M stadium upgrade than included a remodeled press box, luxury box seating and impressive club facilities.

“The vision is very clear for us. We’re building an experience in order to help fund this opportunity to enhance the perception of our Athletics program,” said Terry Mohajir, A-State Athletic Director. “This project will allow us to attract the top students in the country and provide first-class services to develop our students on and off the playing surfaces.”

Total cost for the project is yet to be determined, but is expected to be fully funded by private contributions.
